Dear Dots,
This column of the blog is brand new. I was nourishing the idea in my mind for a long time now. And since I proudly identify myself as a bookworm, I would like through this column to initiate a talk about books, suggest, hear your opinions and give some food for thought. In the end of the day, knowledge is power, and however clichéd this sounds it depicts the clear truth.
The book I recommend today is « The seventy critical days». It parleys the chronicle of the Cyprus tragedy of 1974. The reader must have a critical eye while going through its pages but generally it can be received as a fairly comprehend textbook that presents the order of the incidents that took place and the sharing of power in the global political scene. Today, with the security that only the time distance gives to history, we need to start getting accustomed with our past so that we can be sure about the future, so that we can avoid the same mistakes. War is not that far away. We should not stay passive on what is going on at North Africa and the Middle East. We leave in an interconnected world. The better educated we are the easiest we can handle any crisis as a whole.
